2023/24 UEFA Champions League
Final
Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid
Wembley Stadium
London, England

Kick-off is at 21h00

Nacho and a few of his Real Madrid team-mates are looking to join a club legend when they go up against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday, June 1.

Dani Carvajal and Luka Modric are both one win away from equalling Paco Gento's record of six European Cup final triumphs after Los Blancos beat Liverpool 1-0 in the 2021-22 decider.

Toni Kroos and Nacho have been a part of five title-winning squads, but the German midfielder has featured in four finals, while the Spanish defender appeared in just the 2018 final.

Nacho was on the bench for the 2016, 2017 and 2022 finals, but he's played an integral role for Carlo Ancelotti's side this term, missing just one of their 12 matches in the competition.'

The Madrid youth product paid tribute to the current squad for coming through a tough campaign with the La Liga title and insists they are ready to make more history in London.

"A number of my team-mates and I are just one step away from equalling Gento and we're really eager to please madridismo and ourselves," he told Real Madrid TV.

"The decade we've lived through has been incredible, I'm fortunate to be the captain of this team. I want to thank you for the support you've shown throughout the season. We're just one step away from lifting the most special trophy for this club and we're going to give our all on the pitch.

"The coach has made sure that the group is prepared for any situation. It's been a difficult year, we've had a lot of injuries, and that speaks for the ability in this squad. We've won two trophies and we're playing in another final on Saturday.

"We're on the verge of continuing to make history and we're just one step away from being able to win another Champions League, as difficult as that will be. We're there to dream."
