2025 Africa Cup of Nations
Quarter-finals
Cameroon v Morocco
Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium
Rabat, Morocco
Friday, 9 January 2026
Kick-off is at 21h00
Morocco will look to take another step towards ending their 50-year wait for a second Africa Cup of Nations title when they take on Cameroon in the quarter-finals at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Friday, January 9.
The Atlas Lions have failed to replicate their maiden success in 1976, although they did reach the semi-finals in 1980, 1986 and 1988 before contesting the final again in 2004 which ended in disappointment after they lost 2-1 to Tunisia.
Walid Regragui's side are one of the favourites to lift the trophy on home soil and they've only conceded one goal in their opening four matches, while scoring seven themselves.
The AFCON 2025 hosts won Group A at a canter after beating Comoros (2-0) and Zambia (3-0), having seen their perfect start come to an end with a 1-1 draw against Mali.
Morocco then had to dig deep to overcome Tanzania in the round of 16, with Brahim Diaz's fourth goal in as many matches securing a narrow 1-0 win.

The Indomitable Lions faced more uncertainty ahead of the continental showpiece after the circus that is the Cameroon Football Federation under the leadership of Samuel Eto'o sacked Marc Brys as head coach on December 1 and appointed David Pagou as his successor.
But Pagou's side just got on with their job, missing out on top spot in Group F on goals scored after they finished with an otherwise identical record to Ivory Coast.
The five-time African champions defeated Gabon (1-0) and Mozambique (2-1) and played out to a 1-1 draw with the Elephants before eliminating South Africa 2-1 in the first knockout round.

Regragui wasn't completely happy with his team's performance against the Taifa Stars, but insisted the result mattered the most, while he also confirmed that Azzedine Ounahi's tournament was over.
"We knew it was not going to be easy, judging by the matches we saw yesterday (January 3), even if we thought it might be more straightforward," he said.
"The first half was not good, but I recognised my team much more in the second half. The most important thing is qualification.
"As for Azzedine Ounahi, he picked up an injury in training and is out of the Africa Cup of Nations. We are losing an exceptional player and a leader in our dressing room, but we will continue to fight for him."
