As one of the clashes of the quarter-finals of the
French Open this week, Novak Djokovic will be eyeing an interesting record when he takes on Cameron Norrie at Court Philippe-Chatrier on Monday afternoon.
Norrie marched to the competition’s last eight via a 6-3,7-6 (7-1), 6-2 straight set win against Jacob Fearnley on Sunday.
Reflecting on his win, Norrie expressed his frustration of enduring fireworks distractions not far from the venue.
"It was hard managing the fireworks next door - that was the toughest part for both of us," said Norrie.
"I was putting my bag down and the umpire said, 'There's just a couple of fireworks. We'll just play on'.
"I was thinking it was just going to be a few in the warm-up, but it was at the most random times."

Djokovic, who will match Rafael Nadal’s record for the most matches played at the French Open (116), reiterated his desire to prolong his career as far as possible.
“Slightly different records we have here, but that’s okay,” Djokovic said.
“But look, I think I can’t be compared to Rafa in this tournament, but to know that I played now almost as many matches as he has played in his entire career at this tournament is amazing.
“You know, just that stat alone in terms of longevity is something particularly in the last five to seven years that I was looking for, to try and extend my career, to be playing on the highest level for as long as I possibly can regardless of the age and that’s what is happening so I can’t be happier with that.”
