What to know about the tournament

The tournament began as the Quad Cities Open in 1971 as a "satellite event" on the PGA Tour, and became an official tour event in 1972, played in early autumn.
It moved to mid-July in 1974, and Ed McMahon served as tournament host from 1975 to 1979. Title sponsors have included Miller Brewing Company (1982–85), Hardee's (1986–94), and John Deere (since 1999).

“The John Deere Classic long has been the premier sporting event in the Quad Cities,” said John Deere Classic tournament director Andrew Lehman.
“When Deere initiated the “Concerts on the Course” series in 2023, it broadened the appeal of the tournament to a segment of the population that was introduced to golf – and the beauty of TPC Deere Run – for the first time.

"The event’s annual economic and charitable impact continue to drive positive change and helps make the Quad Cities a better place to live.”
