The 2024 Hero World Challenge is scheduled to take place in Albany, New Providence, The Bahamas between 5 and 8 December.
 
What to know about the tournament 
 
The event is hosted by Tiger Woods, which takes place each December and it features a small number (currently 20) of top-ranked golf pros. 
 
The tournament is a benefit for the Tiger Woods Foundation and the event is part of the PGA Tour schedule, but does not offer FedEx Cup points or official money as it is an unofficial event.

Tournament host Tiger Woods announced on Monday evening that he will not compete in the 2024 Hero World Challenge.
 
The 15-time major champion continues to recover from his 13 September microdiscectomy surgery.
 
Favourites
 
Reigning Hero World Challenge champion Scottie Scheffler and some of the top golfers in the world will headline this weekend's tournament.
 
Ludvig Åberg and Wyndham Clark, who are ranked in the top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings, will tee off at the Albany Golf Course.
 
Keegan Bradley and Sepp Traka, who finished second in the 2012 and 2023 Hero World Challenge respectively, will also be part of the 20-player field. 
 
What Is At Stake 
 
The 2024 Hero World Challenge will feature a $5 million total purse, including $1 million to the winner. 
 
The champion will also receive the Hero World Challenge trophy was created with a combination of hand sculpting and cutting-edge 3D printing technology.
 
The Tiger and Globe were cast in bronze and accented with colorful patinas to create the trophy's realistic appearance.
