Rayo Vallecano will play host to their city rivals, Real Madrid in a

The Red Sashes emerged as 1-0 winners over Valencia CF away on 7 December as they snapped a three-match winless run in the Spanish top-flight.
However, Vallecano are winless in their last two home matches in the league having registered two consecutive defeats at the Estadio de Vallecas.
Meanwhile, Madrid secured a 3-0 win over Girona FC away on 7 December and it was their second win in their last three matches in La Liga.
Los Blancos have also won two of their last three away matches in the league while the other game ended in a defeat as the visitors before facing Girona.

Vallecano could be without the injured duo of Pelayo Fernández and Raúl de Tomás, but the Madrid side has no suspension worries.
On the other hand, Rodrygo, Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal are all on Madrid's injury list, but the club has no suspension concerns.

"We had to dig deep at the start because they pressed hard," Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said after his side's win over Girona.
"We did a good job offensively and then we managed the advantage well. After (Jude) Bellingham's goal the team had more clarity and some good ideas.
"We played very well in the second half. We have to hang in there because of the injuries and little by little we are going to get better."

Vallecano and Madrid drew 1-1 in their last meeting in La Liga in a match played at the Estadio de Vallecas on 18 February.
As a result, Los Blancos are unbeaten in their last three league matches against the Red Sashes having recorded one win and two successive draws.
