The 2024 FA Community Shield is scheduled to take place at iconic Wembley Stadium in London, England on 10 August.
 
What to know about the tournament 
 
Established in 1908, the event takes place annually at Wembley Stadium between the champions of the previous Premier League season and the holders of the FA Cup 
 
As per competition rules, if the Premier League champions also won the FA Cup, then the league runners-up provided the opposition. 
 
The fixture is recognised as a competitive Super Cup by The Football Association and UEFA.

The 2024 Community Shield will be between Manchester City and their arch-rivals Manchester United.
 
Arsenal are the defending champions, but they did not qualify for this edition, having been knocked out in the third round of the FA Cup and finishing second in the league.
 
How They Qualified 
 
Manchester City earned their spot in the Community Shield by winning the 2023/24 Premier League title.
 
Manchester United, on the other hand, qualified for the tournament by winning the 2023/24 FA Cup after defeating Manchester City in the final.
 
What Is At Stake 
 
The £1.25 million prize money is split between both teams in the 2024 Community Shield.
 
The winners will receive a trophy and medals made by Thomas Lyte an English luxury brand specialising in gold and silverware, sporting trophies and leather accessories.

Manchester City wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a 4-2 win over Chelsea in the USA on Saturday, 2 August. 
 
“To play teams like Celtic, Milan and Barcelona and now Chelsea is very good because they challenge you,” City manager Pep Guardiola said after the game. 
 
“We want to win the games of course but if we lost or won nothing changes. Now the real preparation is the season starting in seven days, simple as that."
