2023/24 Italian Serie A
Matchday 31
AC Monza v SSC Napoli
U-Power Stadium
Monza, Italy
Sunday, 7 April 2024
Kick-off is at 15h00
AC Monza will look to humble champions SSC Napoli in a
Serie A match at the U-Power Stadium on 7 April.
Current Form
The White and Reds suffered a 1-0 loss to Torino FC away on 30 March as their two-match unbeaten run in the league came to an end.
Monza have won two of their last three matches in the Italian top flight while the other game ended in a defeat at the U-Power Stadium.
On the other hand, Napoli were thrashed 3-0 by Atalanta BC at home on 30 March and they are now winless in their last three Serie A matches.
However, the Little Donkeys are undefeated in their last three away matches in the league having recorded two draws and one victory as the visitors.
Team News
Monza players Davide Bettella, Samuele Vignato and Daniel D'Ambrosio are currently injured. Their teammates Matteo Pessina and Luca Caldirola are suspended while Papu Gómez is serving a doping ban.
Meanwhile, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the only player on Napoli's injury list at the moment, but the club has no suspension concerns.
Quotes
"Training a national team and a club can only be done in certain moments like this," Napoli manager Francesco Calzona said after his side's loss to Atalanta.
"Yes work purely on the physical side because you miss the players during the breaks. You focus on the condition, so it was in this case. The Champions League is far away, we have to be honest. For the rest, we are still in the game but we have to win and be solid.
"If we don't have it (the strength to compete), we have to find it. If we don't show our pride, I and the boys have failed. We have to do more to try to finish this season in a dignified way."
Head-to-Head
Monza and Napoli drew 0-0 in their last meeting in the league which was on 29 December 2023 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Therefore, the White and Reds are unbeaten in their last two league matches against the Little Donkeys in the Serie A having recorded one win and one draw.
