Union Berlin will square off with Bayern Munich in a
German Bundesliga match on May 17.
The Iron Ones were beaten 3-1 by an impressive Freiburg side away in their last league match which was played on March 7.
As a result, Berlin are winless in their last two league matches having registered one defeat and a draw with Wolfsburg.
They are also winless in their last two home matches in the Bundesliga as they drew with Wolfsburg and lost to Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Bayern secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Augsburg at home in their last league match which was played on March 8.
It was the Bavarians' fourth consecutive league victory and they are also undefeated in their last 11 games in the competition.
Moreover, Bayern are undefeated in their last five matches at home in the Bundesliga having registered four wins and one draw.
"It feels very good, I'm very much looking forward to the task," new Bayern assistant coach Miroslav Klose said ahead of the clash with Berlin.
"Hansi Flick and I have known each other very well since our years together in the German national team. We trust each other, both professionally and personally.
"For me this is the next step in my career as a coach. I hope that I can use my experience to make an important contribution in helping FC Bayern achieve our sporting goals".
The last time Berlin took on Bayern in a league match was on the 26 October 2019. The Bavarians secured a 2-1 win over the Iron Ones in a match which was played at the Allianz Arena.
