South Africa will face off with France in the first test of the series at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday. This will be the Springboks' first match since losing 27-13 to Wales in the Castle Lager Outgoing Tour match in November 2016. The defeat extended South Africa's losing streak to four matches. Their last victory was against Australia in the 2016 Castle Lager Rugby Championship. The 18-10 victory over Australia was also the Springboks' last home victory. They lost 57-15 to New Zealand in their last home match. Meanwhile, France will return to action after beating Wales 20-18 in their last match which was in the RBS Six Nations in March 2017. The home victory extended Les Bleus' winning streak to two matches. Their last defeat was against Ireland four months ago. The 19-9 defeat to Ireland was also France's last away defeat. Since then they have beaten Italy on the road. South Africa and France have met 39 times. The former have won 22 tests compared to Le Bleus' 11 matches.
