The Lions secured a commanding 178-run victory over South Africa in the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) which was played in Colombo on Sunday.
The hosts recorded their second successive win against South Africa, who had already clinched the five-game series after winning the first three matches.
Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews hit 97 to anchor the Lions to an imposing 299 for eight after the hosts won the toss and opted to bat.
Akila Dananjaya, who grabbed six wickets for Sri Lanka, will be keen to inspire his side to victory in the T20I match.
Meanwhile, South Africa were dismissed for just 121 and they registered their lowest score against Sri Lanka in ODIs, but they still won the series 3-2.
South Africa captain Quinton de Kock was once again the Protea's best player as the batsman hit 54 on the day.
Pace bowlers Andile Phehlukwayo and Willem Mulder each took two wickets for the visitors, who will be desperate to return to winning ways in the T20I match.
