Fabio Quartararo will be eager to win the
San Marino Grand Prix title for the first time and also get his defence of the MotoGP world title back on track.
The Yamaha rider narrowly missed out on a podium spot in last season's San Marino MotoGP as he finished second having started third on the grid.

The Frenchman rapidly closed in on the race leader, Francesco Bagnaia in the latter stages of the race and ultimately he came just 0.492s short and took the chequered flag in the second spot.
.
Ducati rider Bagnaia won the Austrian MotoGP with his teammate Jack Miller finishing second and third respectively with the Italian motorcycle manufacturer enjoying a successful race.
Quartararo remains at the top of the 2022 riders' standings, and he is followed by Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia and Bagnaia respectively on the table.

Asked about Espargaro calling him ‘the best rider right now’ after the Austrian MotoGP, Quartararo said: "I don’t like to say whether you are the best rider or not the best rider. I know right now that I’m doing my best and we are having some difficulties.
"In this track I expected much worse because we used such a short gearing. The first gears I could stay with Jack [Miller] but then later [higher gear] I could not. Of course, the Ducati is really strong but it’s not only the Ducatis.
"You can put the perfect bike but if you don’t have the riders then its [the bike] on the back. "It’s difficult to say. I feel like I’m at my best level right now but I don’t want to be pretentious. It’s a good compliment from Aleix [Espargaro]."
Ducati are placed at the top of the Constructors' championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.
