George Russell has issued a challenge to Ferrari ahead of the
Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, November 13 after a strong showing from Mercedes a fortnight ago.
The Silver Arrows have been well off the pace for the majority of the season, but Russell and team-mate Lewis Hamilton qualified in P2 and P3 respectively on the grid for the Mexico City Grand Prix before the former finished in P4 and the latter took P2.

The 24-year-old remains fourth in the drivers' standings but saw compatriot Hamilton close the gap to him to 15 points with two races left in the calendar.
Mercedes have yet to register a win in 2022, although Hamilton secured P2 four times and Russell once, along with six P3 finishes.

The young Briton doubts his team will be able to push Red Bull in Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi, but is confident of getting the better of the Prancing Horse at least.
"We've shown between these two race weekends [in the United States and Mexico], there was quite a fluctuation in performance," he told Sky Sports F1.
"I feel like we probably had the fastest car this weekend [in Mexico] and, had we been on the same strategy as Red Bull, we probably could have fought with them.
"Probably Brazil will be halfway between the two [levels of performance]. Realistically, it's going to probably be quite difficult to finish ahead of Red Bull at any races this year. But Ferrari, I think we definitely can beat."
