Liverpool look to shoot down the Seagulls

2019/20 Premier League

Round 14

30 November – 1 December 2019

Liverpool will be heavy favourites to claim all three points when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday 30 November 2019, kick-off at 17:00 CAT. The match is one of 10 across the weekend for the 14th round of the Premier League season.

Brighton manager Graham Potter

Liverpool kept up their incredible run of form this season with a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace in their last league outing. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino ensured the Reds claimed all three points despite the absence of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

"We are not out there to show we invented football. We have a job to do to get results. We did that again,” said manager Jurgen Klopp, who side are now unbeaten in 30 Premier League matches.

"I have no problem that we were not brilliant [against Crystal Palace]. You just have to make sure you are ready to fight for the result and we were that from the first minute.”

Brighton come into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat against second-placed Leicester City last weekend, with manager Graham Potter admitting that the Foxes were simply the better team.

“Of course it is disappointing to lose but over the course of the game I think it is probably a fair result,” said Potter, who acknowledged that his team will face an even tougher test against log leaders Liverpool.

Van Dijk

In head-to-head stats, Liverpool and Brighton have met in 14 previous matches. The Reds have dominated the rivalry by claiming 10 wins compared to one for the Seagulls, while three games have been drawn.

Liverpool completed a league ‘double’ over Brighton last season, winning 1-0 both at Anfield in August 2018 and at the AmEx Stadium in January 2019. Mohamed Salah scored both goals for the Reds.
