Denver Nuggets will look to stay in the fight for top spot in the
NBA Western Conference when New York Knicks arrive at the Ball Arena on the morning of Friday, March 22.
The Nuggets have been in scintillating form of late, winning eight of their 10 games this month to surge up to second place in the West, only a few percentage points behind Oklahoma City Thunder.
Michael Malone's team saw a five-game winning streak come to an end with a narrow 107-105 defeat to Dallas Mavericks on March 17, but they bounced back by beating Minnesota Timberwolves 115-112 two days later.
Nikola Jokic posted a game-high 35 points and 16 rebounds against the Mavs, although Denver blew an 18-point lead at one stage before hitting all their free throws down the stretch to close out the game.
The Nuggets had led by 15 points at half-time and Malone said afterwards: "You have to put teams away. That's something we really have to get better at."
The Knicks (4th) are looking to cement their place in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference as they have a 3.5 game swing over Indiana Pacers, who are on the brink of the top six.
Tom Thibodeau's team have won four games on the spin to improve their record to 41-27 and they beat Golden State Warriors 119-112 on March 19 to register three consecutive victories on the road.
Miles McBride scored a career-high 29 points against the Warriors, while Jalen Brunson added 34 as New York led from start to finish.
"This team has demonstrated all year there's a lot of fight, a lot of heart, a lot of toughness and a lot of togetherness to the group," Thibodeau said.
"So there's a belief that we can win. We always talk about our defense, our rebounding, taking care of the ball. I thought we shared the ball extremely well tonight."
