Kick-off is at 23h00
Algeria will go head to head with South Africa in an
international friendly match at the Stade de Nelson Mandela on 26 March.
Algeria v South Africa Current Form
Algeria secured a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over a stubborn Bolivia side in their last match which was an international friendly match played on 22 March.
The win saw Desert Foxes snap their three-match winless across all competitions having registered two draws and one defeat before facing Bolivia.
Meanwhile, South Africa were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly-ranked Andorra in their last game which was an international friendly match played on 21 March.
Therefore, Bafana Bafana are undefeated in their last two matches across all competitions having registered one victory over DR Congo and one draw.
Team News
Algeria, who are ranked 43rd in the FIFA world rankings, could be without Ramy Bensebaini on Tuesday as the defender was substituted in the first-half due to injury against Bolivia. Ismael Bennacer has been ruled out of the game against Bafana due to injury.
Ranked 58th in the FIFA world rankings, South Africa are yet to report injuries in their camp, but key players such as Themba Zwane, Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena are expected to start against Algeria. They did not feature against Andorra.
Quotes
“The goal for us was always to give those [uncapped] players a chance to have that experience and I’m satisfied," Bafana coach Hugo Broos said after his side's draw with Andorra.
“I think we’ve shown again what is the problem with South African football, we don’t have a scorer, the guy who gets one chance and scores the goal. If you check, we had six or seven chances, and we only scored once.
“So in this game, you will always win if you are more aggressive and if you have more quality in front of the goal. But again, this is the only thing I’m not satisfied with, but the rest I’m satisfied a lot.”
Head-to-Head
This will be the fifth meeting between Algeria and South Africa across all competitions. They have recorded one win each while two games ended in a draw from four matches.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 3-1 win in favour of the Desert Foxes at the 2015 AFCON finals in Equatorial Guinea.
