2019 Formula 1 season, Round 8

Sebastian Vettel will chase a redemption victory at Round 8 of the
2019 Formula 1 season, the
French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard, Le Castellet on Sunday 23 June.
The Ferrari driver was left fuming at the previous round in Canada, where he crossed the line in first place but was hit with a five-second penalty for an unsafe return to the track in an earlier battle with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.
The ‘Silver Arrows’ driver picked up the race victory to extend his dominance at the top of the Championship, but Vettel made his displeasure at the race stewards’ decision clear for all to see.
However, the penalty stemmed from a mistake under pressure – something which Vettel has been guilty of several times in the past season and a half, with the relentless pace and consistency from Hamilton causing the four-time World Champion all kinds of strife.
Therefore Vettel will hope to dispel the notion that he cannot handle the heat of battle by claiming victory in France, at a track where he only managed a fifth-place finish in 2018.
However, the impressive straight-line speed Ferrari showed in Montreal should served them well on the fast and flowing Circuit Paul Ricard.
