South Africa claimed a double series win in the West Indies. The Proteas followed a 2-0 Test series win with a 3-2 T20I series victory over the same opponents.

“We are very delighted with the win. It was an incredible effort from the boys, there was some hard cricket out there and we were put under some serious pressure. But we have to commend ourselves to bounce back the way we did,” said South Africa captain Temba Bavuma after the Proteas won the last of the 5-match T20I series, to cap a morale-boosting trip to the Carribean.

“This win can only boost our confidence as a team, we have not won many series away from home. We believe that we can adapt to any conditions.

“I believe things are gelling well. We had to come through every day with our skill and the guys have put their hands up. We have made some big strides and we just have to keep winning those small moments," Bavuma added.

Proteas head coach Mark Boucher believes his team can take a lot of positives from their trip to the West Indies, even if their performances weren't completely comprehensive.

“There are questions around why we can’t score runs at the back-end of the innings but you have to look at the bowlers we were facing. Some of the guys are not in form but to win a series like this means we must be doing something right," Boucher said.

South Africa will be without Sisanda Magala who has been ruled out of the Proteas' tour squad after suffering injury to his left ankle in Grenada.

Ireland will welcome Curtis Campher back into their squad, but will be without Kevin O'Brien who recently announced his ODI retirement.
