2019/20 Premier League
Round 25
1-2 February 2020
Bournemouth and Aston Villa will meet for a relegation six-pointer at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday 1 February 2020, kick-off at 17:00. The match is one of 10 spread across the weekend of 1-2 February for the 25
th round of the
2019/20 Premier League season.
Bournemouth’s last Premier League outing brought them a much-needed 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, though they returned to losing form on Monday when they were beaten 2-1 by a young Arsenal side in the FA Cup.
"We're very disappointed," said manager Eddie Howe. "We gave it a good go in the end. It was just a poor start - a tough first half-hour and we struggled to deal with their movement. We weren't ourselves. But for the last 60 minutes we scrapped and almost got something in the end.”

Aston Villa’s last Premier League outing was a key 2-1 win at home to Watford on January 21, with goals from Douglas Luiz and Tyrone Mings. The result took then out of the relegation zone and gave the Birmingham club hope of top-flight survival.
"I've got great belief in the group that we've got. There's 14 games left, a lot of points to play for,” said Lions manager Dean Smith. "I think we're growing and my teams normally get better in the second half of the season, so I'm hopeful that it will continue."
In head-to-head stats, Bournemouth and Villa have met in eight previous matches. The Lions have claimed four wins compared to three for the Cherries, while one game has been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Villa Park in August 2019, Bournemouth claimed a 2-1 away win thanks to goals from Josh King and Harry Wilson. Douglas Luiz netted Villa’s consolation.
