The Gunners got their campaign up and running with a 3-0 win over newly promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend. Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all on target for the North London club while new signing Willian was particularly impressive on debut.
"There are still a lot of things to improve on collectively and individually as well. We have another week to prepare but what I can see from the players is that they are not happy [content] with the last two trophies, we want more and we want to speed up this process and hopefully the players are enjoying it [this process] as well," said Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have received another boost in build up to the Hammers clash following Aubameyang's long-term commitment to the club. The Gunners skipper and Gabon international has signed a new three-year contract, duly ending speculation about his future.
