Familiar faces await the Springboks in Murrayfield

South Africa will renew their rivalry with Scotland at BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh this Saturday, with the clash the first meeting between the two countries since the World Cup in England three years ago. 
 
The Springboks boast a proud record against the Scots, having won five successive matches against the Europeans leading into his weekend. 
 

Scotland, though, have been on the rise and have won nine of their last 10 matches at the their hallowed turf with their only defeat in that cycle coming against the World Champion All Blacks 12 months ago. 
 
South Africa will come up against a catalogue of familiar faces in the Scottish capital this weekend with no fewer than three South African-born players in the Scotland squad. 
 
Allan Dell, WP Nel and former Lions captain Josh Strauss all form part of head coach Gregor Townsend's set-up, while former Western Province centre Huw Jones will start for the hosts. 
 
"I know WP really well from our Western Province days and what they’ve done is just like CJ Stander did in Ireland. It’s a trend that that’s the way world rugby is going to go," Erasmus is quoted as saying. 



"I’m very happy for them. We’d like to beat them, but they are friends of ours. We don’t hate them."
 
Erasmus is also familiar with Townsend with the two previous PRO12 adversary's, having coached Munster and Glasgow respectively. 

"Gregor Townsend is someone I coached against four times in a season and none of them were easy games," Erasmus added. 

"I know how he coaches and his style is definitely about producing a fit and well-organised team – a team that can test you in all facets of the game. I’ve coached against him a lot to know this is going to be a tough Test."
