2020/21 Premier League
29th Season
12 September 2020 – 23 May 2021
Watford FC were relegated to the Championship after five seasons in the
Premier League at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
The Hornets have gone down to the second tier of English football with their veteran goalkeeper, Ben Foster.
The former England international was a consistent performer for the Hornets despite playing behind a leaky defence which saw him concede 64 goals.
Known for his incredible reflex saves and agility, Foster conceded the least number of goals amongst the three relegated teams, AFC Bournemouth (65) and Norwich City (75).

The 37-year-old was an ever-present in Watford's starting line-up as he played all of the team's 38 matches in the league.
A well-travelled shot-stopper, who started his professional career at Stoke City, Foster managed to break a Premier League record against Southampton on 28 June 2020.
The lanky goal-minder became the oldest player to start 100 consecutive matches, completing his century against Southampton at 37 years and 86 days.
Foster, who has also turned out for Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City in the elite league, holds another record Premier League record.
The Warwickshire-born shot-stopper holds the record for the most saves (1,178) in Premier League history.

Watford rewarded him with a new two-year deal in June 2020 which means he will be on the books of the Hornets until he reaches the age of 39.
The former Bristol City goal-minder will be one of the club's key players as they look to make a quick return to the Premier League from Championship.
Foster reflected on his side's relegation and he is confident that the team will perform during the upcoming 2020/21 campaign.
"Now the dust has settled I wanted to express how disappointed me and the lads are about relegation," he wrote on his official Twitter account.
"I honestly never thought it’d happen, but the table doesn't lie. Fair play to [Aston] Villa, eight points from the last four games is some going.
"Either way we’ll have it right off in the champo [Championship]."
