With Atalanta slipping up in their hunt for the 2023/24
Serie A title, Gian Gasperini and company are scheduled to face Lazio in their next league assignment, with the game set to take place at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday, 6 April.
As one of the contenders for the 24/25 title, Atalanta suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two Serie A games.
Following their 1-0 loss to Fiorentina, 3
rd placed Atalanta now trail log leaders Inter Milan by nine points after 30 matches played.
In what has been a big topic in Italian football recently, coach Gian Piero Gasperini expressed that he is comfortable at Atalanta after being linked with a move away from the club.
“I’m fine where I am, then like all things there is a beginning and an end: you know the beginning, you never know the end. But we live in the present: there are difficult matches, it’s a beautiful championship,” Gasperini said.
Sitting in 7
th position, Lazio will head into matchday 31 on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw with Torino last time out.
Hoping to finish in a European football spot for next season, Lazio mentor Marco Baroni is of the thought that his side will need to show their grit during the closing stages of the 24/25 season.
"We need more determination, desire and running. We are disappointed and mortified, but the team played a good game and we start again from this. We are sorry for the result,” Baroni said after his side’s 1-1 draw with Torino.
