The major highlight of African players in major European leagues this past weekend was Mohamed Salah’s fine performance which helped Roma claim a win over Juventus to put some life back into the Serie A title race. The Egyptian star put in a powerful showing and provided an assist as the capital city side defeated Juve 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday night to reduce the gap between the clubs to just four points. Gabon’s Mario Lemina scored the ‘Old Lady’s’ goal. With two rounds of the Serie A season remaining, Juve are still looking good to claim the championship, but Roma have at least given themselves a fighting chance of an upset, even if their fate remains very much out of their own hands.
